About our classes:

Over the next few weeks our classes will include:

Advice, tips and tricks for calming the nervous system and mindful parenting such as:                    

  • coping with overwhelm & reducing stress
  • processing and releasing emotions
  • nurturing self-compassion & appreciation
  • Slowing down – Being vs doing
  • How to relieve a frazzled / overloaded mind
  • Improving vagal tone

Focus on breathwork such as:

  • Introduction to traditional pranayama breathing techniques, extending the exhale (4, 7, 8) breath, alternative nostril breathing, the bhramari breath and many more.

As an introduction to Mindfulness Meditation we will cover the following:

  • What is Mindfulness Meditation? How to meditate & getting started for beginners
  • Breath based body scan
  • Compassion & Self Compassion / Loving Kindness
  • A variation of other guided meditations for further integration of practice
  • Mindful movement & Mindful walking
  • How to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday life or use micro-mindful moments

10-15 min Yoga Nidra Relaxation

Finally we will take part in a super relaxing Yoga Nidra relaxation session (10-15min) to end. Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep as it is commonly known, is an immensely powerful meditation technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. While the practitioner rests comfortably in savasana (corpse pose), this systematic meditation takes you through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of wholeness. As you lie down, supported in savasana, all you have to do is follow the voice that is guiding you. Yoga nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice. The stages of body scan and breath awareness alone can be practiced to calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health.
